Levoni's Rustico salami is based on a traditional Northern Italian salami. With a medium grain, it boasts a perfect balance of fatty parts and crushed red pepper. Cured for a minimum of 4 weeks, the aroma reveals the scents of maturation and spices that blend in a unque fragrance. The flavor is intense, with a beautiful, harmonious and sharp character. Pairs perfectly with Lambrusco. Levoni was founded in 1911 in Milan by Ezechiello Levoni. Levoni participated in the "Modern Arts & Industry" International Exhibition in London in 1913. Ezechiello Levoni seduced the British members of the Jury thanks to its Salame Ungherese which was awarded the gold medal. This achievement was obtained against all odds since the other competitors had thought, as the famous English saying goes, Levoni would be the winner "only when pigs might fly". From that day on Levoni’s flying pig never stopped flying, reaching for the sky. This is their iconic logo that remains today. All Levoni pigs are born, bred and processed in Italy. This approach is certified by CSQA in compliance with the ISO 22005:2008 standard, the reference for Traceability Systems in Agri-Food Companies (cert. no. 41455). Their pigs are raised hormone free with no antibiotics after weaning. They use only natural flavors and spices sourced from around the world. All of their meats are gluten free and do not contain lactose.
