Wouldn't it be great if the maturity found in wines from Murcia and the splendour and elegance of French wines could somehow be combined? Well that's just what has happened in this magnificent Jumilla red. Juan Gil Blue Label appears most appealing due to its lovely violet-purplish colour and very slow tears. The aromas on the nose are profound and mineral, and mingle to evoke a landscape of olive trees, Mediterranean bushes and red fruits. After a few moments spices (vanillas, peppers and cloves), India ink and toasty notes become evident. The interplay between the Monastrell's sweet juicy tannins and the Cabernet's refined austerity make this a most memorable red with a very characterful and exciting mouthfeel. It's weighty yet it flows, it leaves an impression and an extremely good one. Most definitely, one of the Jumilla DO's finest wines.
